Subminiature Tension-Compression Load Cells

Stellar Technology introduces the subminiature series VLU850  tension/compression load cells. In addition to their small size – with diameters from 0.50” and heights from 0.31” – these load cells deliver exceptional 0.50% accuracy for ranges from 10 to 1,000 lbf.  Micro-Welded stainless steel construction provides for a repeatable, reliable, and rugged product.

Standard output for the Model VLU850 is 2 mV/V and electrical termination consists of a 4-conductor Teflon cable with braided stainless-steel shielding and an integral temperature and zero balance board. The VLU850 is temperature compensated from 70°to 170°F, and the temperature effect on zero and span is minimal at 0.01%/°F, insuring reliable performance. These load cells have a standard operating temperature range of -40°to 250°F, with an optional operating range from -65°to 400°F offered.

These small but rugged units feature a static overload capacity of 150% (FSO) and are perfectly suited for a variety of demanding and limited-space applications including medical robotics, components testing, biomedical research, flight control systems, structural testing, infusion pumps, and orthopedic stimulation.

High Performance-High Value Pancake Load Cell

Stellar Technology’s  new Model PNC700 is a high performance, feature rich, general purpose tension/compression load cell which combines high accuracy (0.05% BFSL),  high off axis performance, high fatigue life, and large industry standard loading threads with a very competitive price.  The Model PNC700 comes standard with 3 mV/V output.  Optional internal or in-line amplifiers are available for those applications requiring high level analog or digital output, including CANbus.

Versatile enough to handle ranges from 100 lbf to 100,000 lbf and survive in temperatures from  -65F°up to +400°F, the PNC700 provides the ideal combination of price and performance required for applications that need a reliable, rugged, high accuracy, pancake style, tension/compression load cell. Each PNC700 load cell is designed for dependable performance in harsh environments– all welded stainless steel, O-ring seal at connector and shock and vibration protected.   Hermetic versions are also available.  To enhance overall performance, the Model PNC700 is also barometrically compensated.  The standard compensated temperature range is 70°to 170°F.

The PNC700 features a static overload capacity of 150% FSO as well as improved tolerance to off-axis loading in order to survive the most punishing applications. The PNC700 is available in tension only, tension and compression, or compression only configurations.    This high performance load cell is also available with a variety of options including metric threads, submersible configurations, dual or triple bridge designs, special full scale ranges (English or Metric) and a selection of electrical terminations and connector orientations.

Fatigue Rated Load Cell Features 100-million Cycle Lifetime

Stellar Technology’s Model PNC740 is a fatigue rated load cell which delivers up to 0.03% (BFSL) accuracy over a 100 million cycle lifetime. Versatile enough to handle ranges from 250 lb to 100,000 lb and survive in temperatures from -65°to 250°F, the PNC740 is the ideal solution for aerospace testing, automotive test stands, industrial control, land-based and offshore oil & gas production, or any heavy duty application that calls for a reliable, no-nonsense load cell.

Each Model PNC740 is barometrically compensated to minimize zero shift due to atmospheric conditions and has a standard output of 2mV/V. The compensated temperature range is from 15°F to 115°F. All electronics are shock and vibration protected, and the heavy duty stainless steel connectors feature connector pins that are gold plated, with hermetic glass-to-metal construction.

The PNC740 reflects the industry standard low profile ‘pancake’ design and mounting holes for drop-in replacement flexibility. These stainless steel units are fully welded and feature a static overload capacity of 200% FSO to handle the most punishing applications. The sturdy construction also reduces off-axis loading sensitivity to 0.25%. PNC740 is available in tension and/or compression configurations when mated with the optional pull base, and is available with a variety of non-standard variations to meet your needs.

Miniature Load Cell Features New Lower Ranges

The Series MIN830 miniature load cells and force sensors from Stellar Technology are now available in full scale ranges of 10, 25, 50, and 100 lbf.  With the addition of these new lower ranges, the MIN830 ranges extend from 10 lbf. to 30,000 lbf.

The MIN830 Series are compact compression load cells as small as 1” in diameter, with an accuracy of 0.5% and a standard output of 2 mV/V.  Optional configurations of the MIN830 load cells include high level analog voltage and current outputs, as well as digital outputs.  Custom configurations and ranges (including metric units) are also available.

These rugged force sensors feature all-welded stainless steel construction and a static overload capacity of 150% FSO. The operating temperature range is from -65°to 250°F, compensated from 70° to 170°F.

New High Level Output Miniature Load Cell

Stellar Technology Inc. has combined its innovative electronics and proven sensor technology to introduce a new miniature load cell with internal signal conditioning.  This unique product, the Series MIN840, is a 0.15% accuracy force sensor that measures both tension and compression forces with either high level analog output or digital output.  Standard high level analog outputs are 4-20 mA, 0-5 Vdc, and 0-10 Vdc.  Standard digital outputs are RS232, RS485, CANbus (J-1939 and CANopen).

The Model MIN840 features all-weld stainless steel construction and is available in standard ranges from 250 lbf. to 5000 lbf.  Custom designed configurations and special ranges are also offered. New High Accuracy Load Cells are Fatigue Rated, Resistant to Off-Axis Loads

The Series CNR960 and CNR96XX are high capacity and high accuracy tension/compression load cells specifically designed to resist the affects of extraneous bending and off-axis loading. Ideal for test and measurement applications requiring long fatigue life, this particularly robust canister design is rated in excess of 100 million fully reversed cycles at full scale.

Both units cover ranges from 25,000 to 2,000,000 lbf. The CNR960 provides a 2mV/V full scale output (nom) and the amplified CNR96XX provides analog or digital output including RS-232, RS485, MODbus, and CANbus. Standard operating temperature is from -65°to +250°F, compensated from 70°to 170°F. Static accuracy specs include ±0.2% linearity, ±0.2% hysteresis, and repeatability of ±0.05% (FSO).

The uniquely engineered Series CNR960 and Series CNR96XX tension/compression style load cells are designed specifically for high capacity and high accuracy, and feature minimum deflection which results in fast frequency response. They are constructed of electroless nickel plated carbon steel for durability, and have a static overload of 150% of nominal capacity. These load cells are also shock and vibration resistant.

Standard electrical termination is MS-3102-14S-6P, with a variety of optional features including dual bridge configurations, metric threads, alternate electrical terminations, and expanded temperature compensations. Each unit is shipped with an 11 point calibration record traceable to NISTas standard.

Stellar Technology announces Series RDE905 load cells

Stellar Technology’s Series RDE905 load cells are rod-end configurations for both in-line compression and in-line tension force applications. Standard accuracy is 0.25% FS and the units are available in ranges from 2,500 to 5,000lbf. The RDE905 features shock and vibration protection and the robust design is able to withstand extreme side, bending, and torque loads of up to 20% of full scale.

Constructed of all-welded stainless steel, these bonded foil, strain-gage force sensors are compact in size and provide reliable performance for demanding applications. Standard operating temperature is -65°to 250°F with -320°to 400°F available as an option.

These versatile load cells have a variety of male/female thread arrangements. Optional internal signal conditioning provides analog outputs (4-20 mA, 0-5V, 0-10V) or digital outputs (RS232, RS485, CANbus, MODbus). Each unit is shipped with a 5-point calibration record traceable to NISTas standard.
