Rod-end loads cells are in-line tension force measurement sensors. These load cells normally have a cylindrical configuration with a high length-to-diameter aspect ratio. The configuration itself, with proper installation, reduces the effects of off-axis loading.

Stellar Technology offers many configurations of rod end load cells and force sensors with full-scale ranges from 2,500 pounds of force to 500,000 pounds of force.

Within each of these configurations there is a wide selection of direct mechanical attachments ranging from standard male and female threads to tongue and yoke shackles.

Series RDE900 and RDE905 styles are designed for tension-only applications and the Series RDE915 is designed for both tension and compression applications.

Each of our rod end load cell designs uses bonded foil strain gage sensing technology to ensure reliability for demanding environments, stability for higher temperature applications and design flexibility.

All Stellar Technology rod end load cells are constructed of all welded stainless steel. Standard male and female attachment threads are specified on the data sheets. Customers can also specify metric threads, special non-standard threads or shackle-type configurations consistent with applications specific safety factors.

Stellar Technology’s engineering and application expertise provides the option of a special custom load cell design.

Load cell static accuracies range from 0.20% of full-scale output to 0.25% of full-scale output for most units.
The standard electrical output for our rod-end load cells is mV/V.

Many of these rod end load cells can be specified with high-level analog voltage, analog current or digital outputs. High-level output load cells have an internal signal conditioner with proprietary electronics.

All units, whether mV/V or amplified output, are designed with standard electrical receptacles (PTIH-10-6P, MS3102-14S-6P, MIL-C-5015). Customer-specified electrical terminations can be applied to each of these units.

Each Stellar Technology rod end load cell is shipped with a comprehensive calibration record with a minimum of 11 calibration references for linearity, hysteresis, repeatability and temperature. Review each of the data sheets for detailed specifications.
