Stand-alone signal conditioners are used to provide excitation to a sensor, powering the strain gages and taking the output signal from the sensor and sending it in the form of an analog 4-20 mA or voltage signal to a data acquisition system, display or other device. A signal conditioner housing design that is easily mounted on a standard DIN-rail is a convenient way to manage and control the electronic characteristics of a sensor.

DIN-rail Signal Conditioners

A DIN-rail mounted signal conditioner can be conveniently located away from the sensing environment, making the excitation, coarse gain, and screw terminal connections for power, analog output, shunt, and sensor signals easy to access.

The AP5101 Series is a DIN-rail mounted single channel DC amplifier designed to provide variable excitation and signal conditioning for Stellar Technology’s strain gaged, mV/V, pressure transducers, load cells, force sensors, LVDTs, and torque sensors. The AP5101 provides up to 10V output or 4-20 mA output with transducer signals from 10 mV to 10V. This amplifier accepts both unipolar and bipolar input signals and can produce corresponding unipolar and bipolar voltage outputs. The AP5101 incorporates a DC-DC converter that ensures the output of the unit is electrically isolated from the supply.

The AP5103 Series DIN-rail Amplifier is a low cost, easy-to-use, general-purpose single channel conditioner designed for input of pressure, force, torque, weight, and other variables measured by standard DC-excited strain gage transducers. The AP5103 provides exceptional signal stability and accuracy over a wide range of sensor inputs. A powerful low-pass active filter, selectable by the user, removes unwanted high-frequency measurement-signal components. This DIN-rail signal conditioner provides filtered analog output of ±5Vdc, ±10Vdc, or 4-20 mA which are selectable by the user.
