Incumbent reports directly to the Production Manager and executes the detailed production plans for finished, semi-finished, and component materials per the established business rules.  The Production Coordinator (PC) serves as the daily contact on the shop floor for work order scheduling and start/finish status.  This position is responsible for ensuring the system work order dates are regularly maintained so that Customer Service can utilize the system for reporting order status to customers.  The scope of responsibility for this position extends from the daily/weekly schedule through the shipment of Production product to stock.  Maintaining correct priorities on the shop floor, ensuring product flow and organization of all floor activities are responsibilities of this position.

Job Responsibilities

– The Production Coordinator (PC) verifies that product will be on time; expedites or escalates per policy as required to maintain expected service levels
– Confer with departmental Leads or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
– Works closely with the Production Planner to revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
– Confer with Operations staff, Procurement, Engineering or Customer Support to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays
– Assist in processing of required in-process inspection and provide on-point coordination with Quality Control as required
– Perform root cause analysis and communicate solutions to issues
– The PC participates in the administration and continuous improvement of inventory management metrics, customer delivery metrics, and all relevant requirements of an employee of Stellar Technology  
– Continuous learning and understanding required surrounding the use of the products and associated software and the applications for which they are designed
– Requires the ability to use related software applications and grasp and understand engineering concepts surrounding these products and their development
– Works safely and actively participates in all plant safety directives while adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures
– Other assignments as required
– Physical Requirements:  The daily physical requirements for this position are broken down as follows: CONTINUOUS (75-100% of shift): Sitting, standing, and remaining awake and alert at all times. FREQUENT (25-75% of shift):  Walking, bending, and climbing stairs. OCCASIONAL (1-25% of shift):  Stooping, twisting, squatting, and reaching above shoulders.

Requirements

– High school diploma or GED
– Minimum 2 years experience in production operations or supply chain
– Ability to work in a team environment
– Ability to handle multiple tasks with high tolerance for interruptions and changing priorities
– Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
– Self-motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
– Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization
– Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and be able to clearly explain them in writing
– Excellent communication and writing skills
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Accurate work and attention to detail
– Excellent problem solving skills with strength in root cause analysis and change management
– General understanding of inventory management processes and tools
